The summer markets are in full swing! If you’ve yet to visit us this year you should come on down! The Puyallup Farmers’ Market is where we got our start and it’s a favorite weekend getaway. Whether you’re local or coming from up north, it’s worth a visit. From snow cones to live performances, there’s something for everyone at this market.
Food Vendors
If you like to eat there’s a good number of food trucks and vendors to choose from. They have fair favorites such as elephant ears, kettle corn, and snow cones. If you’re looking to grab something a little more solid, we love the Russian style crepes at the Blinchiki stand. The Pacific Crepe with smoked salmon and avocado is delicious!
Entertainers
Once you grab your food, take a seat on the green lawn and enjoy the buskers. They take the main stage in the afternoon and range from rock bands to belly dancers. The market does a great job of sourcing talent and you’re sure to find a new favorite local act. We keep a couple of albums we bought from the Happy Sinners on rotation.
Dog Watching
If you love pups as much as we do you’ll enjoy seeing all of the exotic breeds and mixes that pass through the market. There’s an adorable sheepadoodle that looks like an animated stuffed toy. We can’t bring our family dogs because we vend, but we love picking up our pups a fresh bag of all-natural dog treats from the It’s a Ruff Life booth.
Fun for Kids
Right beside the library and behind our booth is a big toy with the tallest slides we’ve ever seen at a playground! If you find the playground to be too crowded, you can check out the bouncy houses or the splash park—just be sure to bring a swimsuit and towel!
Shopping
By now, you probably don’t need another reason to visit. From dogs and bouncy houses to food and entertainment, there’s something for everyone at the market. That said, we’ve yet to discuss the best part—the vendors!
There’s plenty of produce and local crafters selling their artisan wares. Shugie’s Adornments has a wide variety of jewelry, Trixies Desserts makes amazing mini bundt cakes, and of course, there’s plenty of fresh produce and flowers from local growers.
All in all, there’s something for everyone at the Puyallup Farmers’ Market. If you decide to check it out be sure to swing by and say hi! We’ll have your free soap sample waiting :)
